Hospital Plaza – A Former French Seminary
Hospital Plaza, named after its most recent use as a medical centre, was originally a seminary incorporating an impressive chapel which remains to this day. The seminary was built in the early 1800s in a square format creating a quadrangle courtyard in the centre.
The seminary later became property of the state and was put into use as a hospital during World War II. This use as a hospital remained until the 2010s when the facility closed down.
