Château des Faisans is a beautiful mansion in France, built at the end of the 19th century. When walking into the property you can tell the family who lived there must have been wealthy. The reception hall opens up onto a large staircase topped with a large glass semi-dome flooding the place with light. The basement contains servant’s quarters, each of whom could be summoned using a series bells throughout the property. Further research reveals the house was home to kings, counts and various members of the royal family.

  1. this place is gorgeous! do we know why is it abandoned and if there is any plans to restore it?

  2. ,,, another great set of pix,, it’s just sad to think, this place, like so many others, could fall to ruin,, unless it is treated w/some TLC soon,, any word on that…

  3. ,, I keep following these amazing places, thru your ever incredible photos, in the hope they are soon to be, or in the process of being saved,, why, aren’t they being rescued,, and perhaps the gov’ts, should step in,, rescuing these places creates jobs and tax revenues, and the saving of another irreplaceable historic structure, instead of them all going to ruin, and generating nothing but dust and decay!

  4. This plsce is amazingly beautiful. I want so badly to go and see it in person. Those stair cases and raililngs, to say nothing of the windows and arches. Ohhhhh.
