Centrale Idroelettrica is a little hydro power station on the outskirts of Tarquinia. The plant, which sits alone on the bank of the Marta River was built to provide electricity to the neighbouring Tarquinia Paper Mill. The plant contains two small hydroelectric turbines to generate electricity, with a control panel spanning one end wall. A channel from the river directed the water below the building and through the turbines. The channel is now overgrown and home to a few frogs. The power station and paper mill have been closed for many years.
