Castle MacGarrett was built in 1811 as the family home for a wealthy land-owner. It later became a nursing home for nuns, and features ornate ceilings.
Starting out as a Union Workhouse, Selly Oak hospital was expanded over the years. The hospital closed in 2012 and services were relocated to a new purpose built hospital nearby.
