Le Sanatorium d’Aincourt was a hospital specialising in open-air treatment for tuberculosis. It was the largest such sanatorium to be built in France.
A hospital in Shropshire specialising in mental health which opened in 1845 as the Shropshire and Montgomery County Asylum.
Cambridge Military Hospital opened in 1879 to serve the British Army. It was also used by the NHS in later years and closed in 1996.
Severalls Asylum opened as a mental hospital in 1913. The simple but elegant buildings contain some amazing corridors and doors. The hospital closed in the early 1990’s.
St Gerards is a small Hospital set up by the Father Hudson Society in Coleshill to provide treatment for children. It became a TB and orthopaedics hospital and closed in 1998.
The Victorian built St Georges hospital opened as a ‘lunatic asylum’ in the late 1850’s. It later became a general purpose NHS hospital until its closure.

The Nursery at St John’s Asylum is a well preserved section of the hospital with minimal decay and leftover toys and other items, and even kids paintings on the walls.
St John’s Asylum in Bracebridge Heath was a mental asylum built in 1852. The grand Italian style building is now a shell of its former greatness.
